SESSION DESCRIPTIONS:

Leveraging TI Technology for Test Success:  Use TI Technology to help your students succeed on MCAS, SAT, whatever high stakes exams they’ll be taking.  Among other things, we will discuss how to solve equations and use the features of the CALC menu on the TI-84+ family of calculators, and similar functionality on TI Nspire CX family.

Science is Cool! Math is Cool! Therefore Science is Math!!!: Come see what happens when Math and Science become one in the same using TI-Technology; with special emphasis on the CBR2 and an Easy-temp probe. In this session, we will explore the same labs/activities from both a Science lens and a Math lens to make connections, which will lead to a deeper understanding of each. We will show you how to edit those activities to make them focus on the concepts you need to explore. You’ll walk away with some personalized great activities too!

The Engaging Mathematics Classroom:  There are so many free activities available to engage your mathematics students!  We will be using simple everyday materials to collect and analyze data.  We will customize some existing activities to perfectly align to your classroom goals so they are engaging AND on target.

STEM Projects with TI-Tech … need we say more!: Together, we will explore the capabilities of the TI-Rover and also what it takes to build an auto dispenser … think gumball machine or toilet paper! Rover activities will range from novice to more advanced users; All are welcome! We will also show off other STEM project possibilities with TI-Tech to get you primed and ready for the new school year.
