Engage in in-depth learning and get a jump start to your networking at a preconference workshop. Workshop registration is open to all registered conference attendees and requires a separate fee. Registration includes lunch. Preregistration is required.

Implementing the Eight Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices in Your Classroom  

• Gain a deeper understanding of what the eight effective mathematics teaching practices are, how they can be implemented in the classroom, and what can be gained from making them a part of one's daily teaching practice.

Workshop 1: Games to Develop Number Sense, Problem Solving, and Fluency 

• Learn ways to develop students' fluency, use of problem-solving strategies, and number sense. You will walk away with ideas that involve students in "doing mathematics" and ready-to-use games!

Workshop 2: Informing YOUR Mathematics Teaching & Learning Everyday

• Do you really know what your students are thinking when doing mathematics? How can you find out? What will you do next? This preconference workshop addresses teachers' challenges and questions in using formative assessment to guide planning and teaching, and monitor student progress in mathematics.
