Did you know that all Connecticut teachers are provided with FREEE access to Metametric's Lexile & Quantile Hub.  Not sure how to get started?  View these videos for some introductory information.  These short recordings are designed to provide some foundational information about the one-stop-shop for Lexile and Quantile tools as well as information about what the Frameworks are and how they might be used by educators and families to impact student learning. 

Sharing an opportunity for middle school math and special educators! This book and lesson study is FREE and the participating teachers can earn $500! The work is part of an OSEP funded grant aimed at increasing algebraic understanding for middle school students, especially those in special education. Please share the attached flyer and one-pager with schools and teachers that you think would benefit.

The Connecticut Council of Leaders of Mathematics (CCLM) will be hosting online sessions addressing The Effective use of Technology in Supporting Student Learning.  There are specific sessions planned to address the elementary and secondary grade bands.  Please see the attached flyers for registration and additional information.

The Connecticut State Department of Education is pleased to announce the launch of an interactive priority standards website that will assist curricula leaders and teachers in planning for instruction for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.

The STEM Careers Coalition has recently released a new careers portal https://stemcareerscoalition.org/educators/career-profiles?utm_source=mdr&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=oct20_cep&utm_content=careers%20portal.  This resource features career profiles, student activations, challenges, classroom activities, virtual field trips, and more. Check out these resources as you encourage students to prepare for their future career success with Career Profile videos and student activations focusing on the STEM skills, knowledge, and interests needed to pursue exciting careers in the STEM industry.

The CCLM Board of Directors has planned a series of fall – winter online sessions addressing issues of concern to our membership based on recent survey results. 

As part of our ongoing support for K-12 teachers as they transition back to the classroom and get used to hybrid and virtual teaching, the Infosys Foundation USA is thrilled to announce that we are kicking-off a series of free trainings on Google Tools for Virtual Teaching in partnership with Mouse! This six-module course will run from October 12 – October 30 and teachers may choose to sign-up for an individual 1-hour module or take all six modules consecutively. Announce the first of 6 Math Teacher Circle 4 Social Justice sessions for the 2020-2021 academic year. Each session features a different leader/presenter who will engage us in mathematical problem solving in relation to issues of social justice. Sessions will be 90-120 minutes, depending on the topic/session design. Note that we will vary the day, as we know no one evening works best for everyone.
